We're Hiring Summer Camp Counselors

Summer is a special time for us at Neighborhood Focus - it's a time for students to have fun, make memories, go on adventures, and learn about Jesus (all without the stress of homework or tests!).

In order to make summer camp a wonderful experience for the children and students who attend, we are looking for additional Male and Female staff with the following qualities:

  1. Love kids 🥰

  2. Have strong communication skills, good time management, and are flexible (while we plan out our camp activities ahead of time, weather and other factors sometimes change plans - flexibility is a must)🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️

  3. Are excited to lead activities such as sports, crafts, games, STEAM, etc.

  4. Feel comfortable speaking to students about having a relationship with Jesus and encouraging them in the Word 💛

  5. Enjoy being outdoors 🌳

As a non-profit organization located along White Horse Road, we primarily work with families in the Berea neighborhood of Greenville. The majority of families we serve are Spanish-speaking, but almost all students who attend programming at Neighborhood Focus speak English. All children in 2nd-12th grade are welcome to apply for our program!

Training and Prep Week: June 3rd - 7th (Monday - Friday)

June Camp Session: June 10th-13th, June 17th-30th, June 24th-27th

(Mondays - Thursdays)

Staff Break: July 1st-5th

July Camp Session: July 8th-11th, 15th-18th, 22nd-25th

Independent Camp Reflection: July 26th (Friday)

On camp days, we ask all staff to plan to be on site between 7:45 am - 1:30 pm. Once or twice a week, each staff member will be asked to stay until 3:30 pm to oversee Late Stay. Late Stay is reserved for students whose parents are working and do not have the ability to pick up students at 1:00 pm. There may be 1 or 2 field trip days in the summer where students will get back to NF after normal pickup time. Our high school service team students will go on 1 overnight camping trip. We will have these dates to you ahead of training week. Please note, though, that some plans may change due to weather.

Deadline to apply is March 31.

After you have completed your application, please look out for an email from our Programs Director, Amy Escoe. If we think you would be a good fit for your team, she will email you to set up an interview.

If you have any questions about the Summer Camp Counselor position, please let us know by filing out the form below.
